Everett Brutocao was recently diagnosed with Niemann-Pick Type C (NPC). NPC is a rare, fatal, genetic disease that will attack his neurological function and critical organs. There is currently no cure for NPC and time is running out for Everett and others afflicted with the disease.
I am running the San Diego Marathon October 24th to raise awareness for NPC and raise funds for the Parseghian Fund at Notre Dame, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a treatment or cure for NPC.
The Parseghian family launched the APMRF in 1994 when 3 of Cindy and Mike Parseghian’s children (Coach Ara Parseghian’s grandchildren) were diagnosed with NPC disease. Since then, they have raised over $50 million to support research, funded over 100 laboratories and now there are multiple potential life-saving therapeutics in clinical trials.
I ask for your support, to contribute what you can (no amount is too small) and to spread the word about the disease and it’s impact on Everett, his family, and all those families affected by this horrible disease.
