In honor of our 45th Reunion, just like for our 40th, to get to Reunion I'm going to ride my bike from Chicago (Northwestern University campus, to be precise) to Notre Dame. The ride date is June 2nd and the planned route is 125 miles. I came up with that number by combining our class year and our reunion (77 + 45). Since that's 122, I rounded it up to 125. The difference between this year and 2017 is this time I'm using the ride to raise money for the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Fund and our classmates, Mike and Cindy Parseghian. I don't have a set goal in mind, but knowing the Class of 1977, I'm confident the support will be awesome. Also, anyone who wants to ride part/all of the ride with me is more than welcome to do so. In 2017 I averaged 16 mph for the ride and I anticipate a slightly slower pace this year. After all, we're all just a bit older.
Please consider supporting the APMRF and your commitments will give me the impetus to do the ride and not wimp out. One caveat - I won't ride in a thunderstorm or torrential downpour. That would be stupid.
If you'd like to ride some/all of the ride with me, let me know at dwnd77@gmail.com and I can share the details (start time, route, etc.).
See you at Reunion and Go Irish!
