The Ara Parseghian Medical Research Fund (APMRF) at Notre Dame (ND) is pleased to announce we will be accepting grant requests for the 2018 grant cycle. The mission of the APMRF is to promote research that furthers understanding of the molecular basis of Niemann Pick Type C (NPC) disease and targets development of novel strategies to treat and/or cure the disease. For the 2018 Request for Proposals (RFP) there will be two levels of grants awarded:
- Research grants will provide support for up to $100,000 for the period of one year beginning July 1, 2018.
- A few collaborative research grants will provide support for up to $250,000 for the period of two years beginning July 1, 2018 (Max $125,000/year). These grants will be targeted to multidisciplinary, collaborative research teams that involve two or more laboratories and primarily focused on translation of novel therapeutic strategies.
Please submit a letter of intent (LOI) of no more than 2 pages to skassen@nd.edu by March 1st, 2018. Your letter of intent should include the name of your organization, a description of the project, the amount needed or requested, and the qualifications of the project staff. We request that all LOIs be formatted with font size of 11pt. or greater and use 1-inch margins.
Deadline for submission of the letter of intent is March 1, 2018.
The LOI will be reviewed by the Science Advisory Board and they will make recommendations for who will be invited to submit a full grant application. All LOIs will be reviewed by April 1, 2018.
For those invited to submit a full grant application the deadline will be May 1, 2018.
